My wee ebook is proving a bit of a runaway hit on Amazon.com

It is currently in the top 10 of Science Fiction books available for the Kindle,
and in the Top 20 of ALL horror books.

So here I am, asking for the help of my readers to get it even higher
in the charts Please, tell your friends, relatives, people in the street. Anyone
you think might be interested in an alien invasion story. It's good. honest :-)

It's available on

Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/The-Invasion-ebook/dp/B003HS4V8O

Amazon.co.uk
http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Invasion-ebook/dp/B003HS4V8O

And remember, you don't need a kindle to read them... you can download the
Kindle for PC, or Iphone on the Amazon site.

In other news

I made a conscious decision early this year to pick and choose markets more
carefully.

It seems to be paying off rather nicely. So far I have/will have stories in the
following print anthologies:-

- Null Immortalis (Nemonymous 10) (OUT NOW)
- Cthulhu 2012 (Mythos Books)
- Watch (Imprint Phoenix)
- Mountain Magic: Spellbinding Tales of Appalachia (Woodland Press)
- Call of Lovecraft (Papercut Press)
- Gaslight Arcanum (Edge Publishing)
- Specters in Coal Dust (Woodland Press)

There's another great antho sale I can't talk about yet, and a couple more
submissions I have out that I have high hopes for.

I also have recent pro Science Fiction short story sales to Escapepod and Daily
Science Fiction.

What with that, and The Invasion currently in the top 20 on the Amazon Horror
lists, and in the top ten in Kindle Science Fiction, it's been quite a couple of
months.

Also coming up, I have Kindle releases of many of the Penny Dreadful Chapbooks,
a Carnacki collection, and the release of the 3rd Derek Adams Midnight Eye File: The Skin Game

Busy, busy, busy.

BBC Radio Ulster's Talkback program - Thursday 8th July from 1.15pm to 1.30pm. I'll be taking part in their weekly book club segment tomorrow and we'll be spending 15 minutes discussing the rising popularity of Vampire fiction.  Talk Back is BBC Radio Ulster's award winning daily political and current-affairs phone-in programme, currently presented by Wendy Austin

You can listen on the BBC iplayer at this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b007cpt4

I'm chuffed to have been invited onto this show.  It's a phone in interview as I am on vacation in Florida (so it's an early morning call for me) otherwise I'd be in studio...

Plenty more books coming this year

I've just agreed contracts for seven more ebooks with Black Death Books who will be bringing my back catalog, and a new Midnight Eye File, to ebook format this year.

This comprises:

The Midnight Eye Files: The Amulet
The Midnight Eye Files: The Sirens
The Midnight Eye Files: The Skin Game (also joining the others in print)

Watchers: The Coming of the King
Watchers: The Battle for the Throne
Watchers: Culloden

Eldren: The Book of the Dark

Also coming this month are 4 new chapbooks from GWP:

Abominable (Yeti on Everest in 1924)
Fear Liath Mor (Grey Men on Ben McDhui in the 16th Century)
Crustaceans (digest sampler of the novel)
After the Fall ( British soldiers fall in to a demonic battle in the Middle East)

Next month will be a chapbook box set of short stories - some new, some reprints - called Flower of Scotland, look out for it.

And GWP will be publishing more chapbooks, more ebooks, and several of my works in print so watch this space.

Kindle sales have surprised me by being a steady stream, and the books are picking up good reviews (none less than 4 stars yet for any book).

If you're Kindled, come on over and see the store. There's crime, SF, Fantasy, horror, and big honking creatures. Something for everybody.

The imprint is doing very well. To that end, I've decided to open a small submission period window for the YA imprint. Details are available on the site:

http://tokusatsupress.com/

Please note, Black Death Books will not be open for submissions until I've finished off the present roster of titles. Unfortunately, I need to concentrate on what I have there before I take on any new books.

I have three new books out this week, $1.99 each, in numerous download formats.

The Invasion

It started during a winter storm on the North Eastern Seaboard which brought with it a strange green rain. Where it fell, everything withered, died, and was consumed. The residents of remote outposts in Maritime Canada escaped the worst of the early damage, but that was a blessing in disguise, for they were left to watch as first North America, then the world, was subsumed in the creeping green carpet of terror. And that was just the beginning. New life forms began to arise from the ooze, simple organisms at first, but multiplying with ever increasing complexity. The few human survivors are faced with a full-scale invasion... and only radical measures will guarantee the survival of the human race.

The Chronicles of Augustus Seton

Augustus Seton is a 16th Century Scotsman, a seeker after truth, continually trying to find ways to explain the supernatural events that shaped him. This will lead him down many Fortean alleys, confronting demons and witches, but also getting involved in other manifestations of the weird, from the Grey Man of Ben MacDui, to the Kilbirnie Wyrm and even encounters with the Grim Reaper himself. The four stories in this collection are his first adventures in what I hope will become a long and wild career of monster smiting, demon slaying and general mayhem with a bit of history thrown in.

The Valley

In 1863 a group of mercenaries are hired to help out a mining town in Montana. They arrive to find the town empty and some of the buildings wrecked and strewn over a wide area. A new cave leads them to a land that time forgot, a high valley full of animals that are extinct elsewhere, but have thrived in the remote environment. But something else is loose in the land, something even older that has emerged from the cave system. Soon the remaining men are fighting for their lives, and the lives of everything in the valley.
